Blog Design/Customization Packages
Blog design or redesign/customization packages include incorporating your images, logos, and design elements (preferred colors and fonts) into or in place of a free blog template provided by the blog service.
Self-Hosted vs. Service-Hosted
A service-hosted blog means your blog is hosted by your blog service like at WordPress.com or Blogger.com (blogspot.com). Some blog services do not charge for the hosting of your blog and some do. Some of the benefits of a service-hosted blog include: 1) low or no hosting costs, 2)no domain registration costs, 3) lower costs for us to customize your blog, and, finally, 4) very quick set-up time of your blog, usually within minutes. Be aware that some service-hosted blogs (like WordPress.com) do not allow as much flexibility for redesigning or customizing your blog unless you 1) self-host it or 2) pay for an upgrade to a premium version that allows you access to CSS and HTML code.
A self-hosted blog means your blog is installed at your domain name on a server at your hosting provider. For instance, our WordPress blog at Site Sensations is hosted by us at blog.sitesensations.com (a subdomain of sitesensations.com) by our hosting provider Estreet. Some of the benefits of a self-hosted blog include: 1) more control over the blog development, 2) more freedom and flexibility regarding your features and functionality, and 3) you can choose to name your blog anything. (Whereas with a service-hosted blog you can only choose a name that has not yet been taken by someone else.
Getting started with your blog customization is easy!
You can choose your blog customization package below based on whether you have a self-hosted or service-hosted blog. You will fill in a text field with your blog web address (if you have one) and the type of blog you have signed up for or wish to sign up for (i.e., WordPress or Blogger or other). You can order your blog customization package using PayPal. After we receive your payment, we will contact you within 24 hours to begin working on customization of your blog.
The difference in pricing reflects the additional work required by us to set up or convert your current blog to a self-hosted solution. It takes us a little bit longer, but we can usually do it within a day, but that depends on how long your hosting provider takes to fulfill our request to do a few required changes on the server during the installation.
